Children under 3
We offer two different rates for under 3s: one General rate, and one for University staff and students.
Birmingham Day Nurseries fees:
3 September 2018-30 August 2019
|Full time weekly rate||Half-day (5 AMs/PMs) weekly rate||Day rate|
|University staff and students||£231.40||£145.50||£56.50|
Prices include all meals, snacks and drinks, local excursions, and music. Optional activities will incur an additional charge.
At The Maples, you’ll also receive an annual family pass to Winterbourne House and Garden, at an additional cost of £60. This will be added to your first nursery invoice. Winterbourne House and Garden is an ideal family day out, with activities available all year round for babies, toddlers and older children.
Children must attend a minimum of 2 days.
Please note we do not offer half day sessions other than 5 mornings or 5 afternoons per week.
Fees are annualised and billed monthly in advance. For more details, read our full Terms & Conditions.
Children 3 and over
Children 3 or over will be entitled to Early Years Education Entitlement funding, beginning from the start of the term after their 3rd birthday (that is, from September, January or April). Please visit Childcare Choices to find out what your options are.
Please note: Birmingham Day Nurseries will aim to offer you a funded space, but unfortunately cannot guarantee availability. Although this is often referred to as ‘free childcare’, you may still be eligible for nursery fees. Speak to the Nursery Manager to discuss exactly how the funding will work for you.
Some children aged 2 are also entitled to Early Years Education Entitlement funding. Visit Childcare Choices to find out more.
Registration costs £60.
You will also need to pay a £250 deposit to secure your child’s place; both payments are required to process the application. The deposit fee of £250 will be refunded to you as a deduction from your first month’s nursery invoice. Unfortunately, if you later choose not to take up the allocated place, then this fee is non-refundable.
How to Pay
There are two ways you can pay for your childcare.
- Direct Debit, collected on the 14th of each month
- University Employees salary sacrifice scheme
