Award-winning childcare: happy, healthy, safe
You care about finding professional, high-quality childcare for your child. Both Birmingham Day Nurseries have been recognised many times for our commitment to children’s wellbeing, so you can have complete confidence in the care we give.
England’s gold standard in paediatric healthcare. Millie’s Mark means every single member of staff (including administrative and kitchen staff) has Paediatric First Aid training – giving them the skills and confidence to keep children safe, minimise risk and accidents, and respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.
Startwell Level 3
Birmingham’s own programme to support healthy eating and physical activity. Linked to the NHS, Startwell brings parents and professionals together to help your child grow up in a healthy environment. Staff undertake intensive training in physical development and healthy eating, to help them plan activities in and outside the nursery environment, and run workshops to share their knowledge and encourage all adults to act as healthy role models.
The National Day Nurseries Association is the Early Years’ nationwide charity, providing support and training to nurseries across the UK.

These awards join The Elms Day Nursery’s Good OFSTED rating and The Oaks Day Nursery’s Outstanding OFSTED rating as more evidence of how hard we try to be the best we can be.
Sun Safe Nurseries
Developed by the National Skin Cancer Charity Skcin, this award helps children learn positive sun-safe messages in their early years. Skcin believes that education from a young age is essential to skin cancer prevention.
The award ensures that children and parents receive appropriate sun safety advice, and confirms that nurseries are committed to keeping children protected during the hours they are in nursery care.
RHS Campaign for School Gardening
This campaign supports learning settings to develop sustainable outdoor spaces to support young people’s learning, health and wellbeing.
The Maples Day Nursery has achieved the Level 2 award. The Elms and The Oaks have both achieved the Level 1 award. All three nurseries are working towards the next step.
